Television - News - 'Dollar Drop' in doubt over answer error - Digital Spy: "The US version of The Million Pound Drop has been thrown into chaos following just one episode, after a couple lost a five-figure sum on an answer later deemed to be correct.
Contestants Gabe Okoye and Brittany Mayi lost $800,000 (£520,677) during the premiere of Fox's Million Dollar Money Drop on the question 'Which of these were sold in stores first: Mackintosh computer, Sony Walkman or Post-it Notes?'
After confidently betting on Post-it Notes, the pair were left to proceed with the $80,000 (£52,067) they hedged on the 'correct' answer of Sony Walkman, which they later lost.
Internet forums questioned the accuracy of the answer and the wording of the question, while blogger Richard Lawson wrote on Gawker: 'Apparently Post-it Notes didn't go on sale nationally until 1980, but were market tested in four cities starting in 1977."
