Long story short:: 10 (actually 14) banks are settling with Fannie Mae for $20 Billion dollars. BOA (Bank of America) is paying $10B of the settlement money and has admitted to years of wrongdoing in order to prevent further probing. The 13 other banks matter if you had them as a servicer. ramifications for homeowners is not totally clear yet (in my mind).
