November 21, 2010 -  With a total eclipse of the heart, we watched as memories performed LIVE on the AMA 2010 show.   Warning this is a nostalgic opinion review. Having raised teen girls and remembering my own youth with Davy Jones, Tom Jones, and dare I say it Ricky Nelson as our generations teen idols; we realize that  teen heartthrobs are not a new selling tool to any commercial endeavor.  Indeed the boy bands of the 90's were just as much a commercial product as the Monkees  or Partridge Family groups of the 70's. Justin Bieber 2010 AMA Awards: See 'Pray' performance here! (VIDEO)

Justin Bieber sang and played piano as he performed "Pray" at the 2010 AMA Awards. The 2010 American Music Awards featured a plethora of performers during it's three hour presentation (!!!), and Justin's performance seemed to have the heavens smiling on him. PINK raises her glass on AMA 2010 show

November 21, 2010 - Pink performs Raise Your Glass live on the American Music Awards 2010. AMAs. To this was possibly one of the best performances of the night.  Nearly flawless, strong performance with some great energy.  (okay we forgive the ending ).    It is nice to see a performer that is confident enough to trust the vocals and the performance enough to not rest on scanty clothing to sell the performance.  The balloons were a colorful  touch.

AMA 2010: Train performs at American Music Awards

November 21, 2010  - While many have given train a low grade for performance, it was still enjoyable.  As an understated and calm performance compared to others it was nice to have a break from glitz.  There is something irrisistable and boy next doorish about TRAIN and the way he moves during "Soul Sister".  As a very loose style of movement dance, it was in a word "strange".    Tomorrow will tell the tale as we see reviews by the professionals, however with only a handful of views on the videos, it is a safe bet Train is not in the top 5...

AMA 2010: Memories of AMA's past - 1993 compared to 2010 MJ Dangerous

 November 21, 2010 -  Given the nostalgia of the AMA 2010 show,  Michael Jackson came to mind.  The  heavy breathing segment during the performance of NKOTB & BackStreet Boys was the perfect transitional comparison to Michael Jackson's Dangerous of 1993.   Nostalgic then and Nostalgic now, both performances were come backs of a sort.  See Michael Jackson's performance from 1993 below.    With crowds screaming and cheering in both performances,  it is easy to see that performers who touch the heart,  will never go out of...

November 21, 2010 -  Bon Jovi performs at the AMA 2010.  Listening to Bon Jovi is not only memories but it is the same reaction received when eating comfort food during times of high stress.                        MEDLEY: "What Do You Got?," "You Give Love a Bad Name" and "It's My Life" The American Music Awards performance was strong and then they broke into the harder rock song - 'you give love a bad name' and really rocked it.
