83rd Academy Awards aim to meld old, new Hollywood - USATODAY.com

83rd Academy Awards aim to meld old, new Hollywood - USATODAY.com: "They are also among the youngest (The Princess Diaries actress, 28, beats the record held by Donald O'Connor by a few months) and, dare we say, handsomest ringleaders for Tinseltown's annual circus of the stars. Those selling points aren't lost on Tom Sherak, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Attracting viewers not yet eligible for AARP is always a concern for the TV show, airing Feb. 27.
'What you are going to see is young, hip Hollywood,' Sherak says about the 83rd ceremony produced by Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer. 'You are going to like the style. It will meld old Hollywood with the way it is today, both the glamour and the business. And there is going to be some surprises. Stuff that will make people say, 'How did that happen?''"
