"November 21, 2010 - With a total eclipse of the heart, we watched as memories performed LIVE on the AMA 2010 show. Warning this is a nostalgic opinion review. Having raised teen girls and remembering my own youth with Davy Jones, Tom Jones, and dare I say it Ricky Nelson as our generations teen idols; we realize that teen heartthrobs are not a new selling tool to any commercial endeavor. Indeed the boy bands of the 90's were just as much a commercial product as the Monkees or Partridge Family groups of the 70's. The Boy Bands Backstreet Boys and New Kids On the Block and even N'Sync, were a novelty sound in the 90's and were well received by the young 1990's crowd. In the early 2000's there were reality TV shows which tried to reproduce the Boy Band experience with show's such as 'Making of the Band.' in 1999. "
