ELLEN to fill oprah’s void - BostonHerald.com: "WCVB-TV (Ch. 5) said yesterday it plans to replace Oprah Winfrey with Ellen DeGeneres when the Queen of All Media steps down from her show next fall after a 25-year run.
“Live with Regis & Kelly” is also moving to Channel 5’s morning lineup, picking up the show after rival station WHDH-TV (Ch. 7) dropped it after airing it for more than two decades.
Channel 5 bought the syndication rights to air “Regis & Kelly” in the Hub market from the Walt Disney Co., after Channel 7 said it opted not to renew its contract for the show. Channel 7 wouldn’t disclose how much it paid."
